On September 13, YPI completed installation of its 80th and final Public Computer Center in Los Angeles at Stonehurst Elementary School.  YPI opened all 80 Centers in just 14 months, funded by a $5.6 million award from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act).

These Centers operate in communities that have the least access to broadband resources and technology.  Each Center is open to the public all day and on weekends, while offering state-of-the-art equipment and tailored training programs free of charge.  The YPI EdTech Team has installed 1,652 Mac and PC computers while cutting the time it takes to install a lab from 2 days to just 4 hours.

Thank you YPI, their dedicated staff, and their many partners who have made all this possible.
